LAST ALIBI

Case 1: Last Stop, Simplon-Orient

18 December 1931. An avalanche stops the Simplon-Orient Express high in the Alps. By breakfast, the envoy in compartment 7 is dead behind a door bolted from the inside. The doctor says his heart stopped.

You don't believe it.

You are Inspector Marc Sorel of the Paris Sûreté. The carabinieri arrive on the relief train at 10:00. Before then you must name the killer, the motive, and prove it.

TALK TO THEM. REALLY TALK.

Nobody here runs on a dialogue tree. Every passenger and crew member is a live AI character with their own memories, alibis, lies and secrets. Ask anything, in your own words: type it, or just speak with your microphone, and they answer out loud in their own voice. Push them, flatter them, show them what you found. Some will crack. One is lying for their life.

EVERY WORD BECOMES EVIDENCE

- What people tell you is written into your notebook automatically: who was where, and when.

- When two statements can't both be true, the game flags a contradiction, and you can confront a suspect with another witness's words.

- Search the train for clues: a needle mark, a wet pair of shoes, a torn page. Put them in front of people and watch them react.

YOUR ASSISTANT, CASTELLI

The chef de train is at your service. Think the case through with him, or send him on errands: "Go search compartment 3." "Ask the Major if the doctor left the card table." "Bring me the singer." He comes back and tells you what he found.

MAKE YOUR CASE

When you're ready, gather everyone in the dining car. Point at the killer, then say why they did it and which proofs convict them. The magistrate weighs your words. A weak case, and your suspect walks free.
